Hello folks my name is chase and I'm new to the group. I recently purchased this Ford explorer with high miles. So as I'm accelerating i feel a vibration through out the vehicle.what would you guys feel would be causing that.
Only during acceleration? In that case I would lean towards imbalanced driveshaft. If it happens at any steady speed then I'd think wheel imbalance or damage is more likely, which can also be weeded out by rotating the tires to see if the problem follows the wheel.
What about severe engine bearing wear, or motor mounts, can you get any vibration revving it in park? Any sound to it?
J_c thanks for your input I'll do a tire rotation and get them balance and hope for that. I haven't notice it as I'm in park revin it up but I'll listen when I get a day off. I appreciate the help and I will post an update after I give this a try.
