2003 XLS Rear Binding Noise At Low Speed Cornering

Hi Folks. When driving in parking lots at low speed while cornering into and out of parking spaces, I get binding and grinding noises coming from rear drivetrain. The vehicle has only 76000 miles. The differential was rebuilt at a Ford shop by the prior owner. Rear bearings seem good. I removed the front drive shaft and the noise persists. I pulled the fuses that control the 4X4 and no change, so assume the control module is good. Tires are well worn but are the same size and look evenly worn.

Was thinking about replacing the tires next or maybe pulling the transfer case and replacing the viscous coupler. Not really sure what to do next. Would sure appreciate a comment from someone who has been there and solved this mysterious problem. Oh yeah checked codes and it's not throwing any.
