New to this forum/first post

I just got a 1996 Explorer from a friend (original owner) with 172,000 miles. Threw the P0420 code about a week after I got it.
After doing some reading, I decided that the first thing I'd try is some Catalytic Converter cleaner (added to a full tank of high-octane gas).
Has anyone had any luck with this remedy?
I've got about 300 miles on the vehicle since I cleared the code and added the cleaner with no Check Engine light back...yet.

Any advice/shared experience with this attempted remedy for the P0420 code will be much appreciated.

Thanks, Nick B.

Today's update on the OP:

350 miles....Check Engine light is back! :(

Runnin' great!
Do I care about the P0420 code until it starts to run badly? (2 years until I have to go through emissions again)
