I'm running Monroe air shocks on the rear of my lowered Mountaineer. and am very happy with them.

reason:

I found that, when I go on trips, and have three adults in back, with cargo carrier bolted to the roof rack & then if I encounter any irregularities in the road, I often hit the bump stops.

So to eliminate this all I have to do is add a little air. presto level ride.

To answere your question.

It might give you a maximum of 2/3 inch increase in height if you have no load in rear of vehicle and shocks are at max air pressure.

If you are looking for a permanent solution purchase new rear shackles, they are relatively cheap and you can get them in what ever height you are interested in.
