My brake lights are always on and its due to the wiring near my brake pedal, there is a connection point where there is a two prong plug with a red and green wire and an orange and black wire, where can I order this plug/ how can I replace it?
Looking on Rock Auto they show a two terminal switch, but you mention 4 wires. Do pairs of wires go to the same terminal?
First link below is a picture of their kit with the switch included but you can get the same thing cheaper without the switch. You'd just solder it on the existing wires in place of the old one and cover the solder joints with heatshrink tubing.
It would be possible to use crimps connectors instead of soldering but frankly I'd solder it because brake lights need to be as dependable as possible... if the crimp isn't good and wires slip out, you could get rear-ended if someone doesn't notice you slowed down in time.
