What are the differences in the 5.0L EFI engine in the 94-95 mustangs and the 5.0's in the 2nd Gen Explorers? I would like to eventually get engine upgrades like a new intake, valves, cam, etc. and there seem to be more choices with the mustang parts. So, what will fit and what won't fit. Thanks.

Explorer motors have gt40p heads with different sparkplug angle. Explorer has gt40 style intake, which means it has round staggered ports. The entire accessory setup is different. Explorer has a coil pack, mustang has a distrubuter.

Almost all mustang performance parts will work on an explorer engine (not headers, and superchargers).

Pretty much if you wanted alot of naturally Aspirated HP, add a cam, have the heads ported and polished with a valve job, since gt40p heads are better than E7's.

The intake, and TB are good enough for most applications. Maybe add some rollerrockers and a pro-m mass air meter.
