Hello All..

Firstly thank you to everyone that has helped thus far..... WIth out this forum I would of given up on my fav. vehicle EVER!!!!

Ive just hit 200,000 km approx 100,000 miles...

My Major question is: What should I check, change or upgrade?? ie Spark leads, filters ect.. any major checks or upgrades needed??? I dont take it off road...
I didnt receive log book with truck when I bought it, the last owner did there own work... so I dont know whats been done..

I dont know anything really about cars/trucks only what I read, before I bought my Explorer I didnt care, but I really love this ride and want to learn... SO any info would help, however mundane it may seem to you all..

:)

Im taking the truck into Ford Australia ( they hate seeing me in a Explorer ) on thursday, for ( i hope a wheel alignment ) Inner front wheel tyre wear is realy bad... But im prepared for the worst... Ie bearings, control arms etc...

On or after a rainy day, I get a squeel in left front wheel (not brakes ) presume its bearings...

And thanks to the forum I will be getting Moog parts...( if needed) for the front end...

ALso gonna check the ABS situation ( they cringed when I told them ABS light is on... ) Also the trouble codes for lean mix... etc... Door Lock Actuators need to be replaced ( thanks to forum easy job for me ) Back wiper doesnt work, Its worked a couple times, so im thinking loose wire.

Also A BIG THANKS to the forum for letting me know about product recall on 2000 explorer Speed deactivation fire hazard.... (as much as flames coming out would look good) cant have the family cooking can we....

THANKS ALL... LOVING THIS FORUM..... WHooooo Hoooooooo..

2000 FORD EXPLORER V6 SOHC AUTOMATIC.... with a timing chain rattle from hell.... ( Every other day ) :p

P.s... getting there on reading all threads posted.... only about 90 pages to go... haha....

ABS light being on almost always points towards wheel hub assembly(s), which I believe Todd already mentioned in your other thread. Each hub assembly contains your ABS speed sensor and wheel bearings, and each is replaced as a whole.

Bad wheel bearings general make a dull grinding noise, not a squeal. If you have poor tire wear, the noise may most likely be from that.

Ball joints in your explorer can be purchased and replaced on their own, or you can buy new control arms which contain new ball joints and replace them instead.

A great benefit of the Moog products is that they contain grease fittings, unlike most of the other replacement manufacturers. If you spend the money for Moog, be sure that you keep them greased up.

Besides eBay, rockauto.com is a great source for replacement parts.

Both have the ABS sensor and wire, and will fit your explorer.

Timken also makes good products.
