I have a set of Genuine Ford Motorsport Headers for the 2nd Generation Ford Explorer (not sure of the years but the ones that require the EGR connection as seen on the headers for sure - do your homework to make sure these headers will work for your truck) The 5.0 Liter motor was installed on the 1996- 2001 Ford Explorers.

Ford Motorsport no longer produces these specialty headers made specifically for the 5.0 Liter 2nd Generation Ford Explorer.

I purchased these headers as part of a deal with a new supercharger kit. Didn't need them since I have another set already.

Headers for the 5.0 2nd Gen Explorer are almost impossible to find - so here is your chance to get a set for your truck.

Payment by Money Order or cash deposit to Wells Fargo

Asking $800.00 plus actual shipping costs by carrier of your choice.

OEM are hard to find and better built, incl. better flow characteristics but aftermarket 5.0 headers are $113 a pair on Amazon. > 7X additional cost seems rather steep even for new.

I am not aware of any set of headers for (made to fit) the 5.0 Liter V8 2nd Generation Ford Explorer (not Mustang) - currently available for sale at any price.

Have a link that you can share?

Depends on where you want to buy, there are many sellers of the aftermarket headers for about $120 a set. I don't think the quality is as high nor flow, but with this big a price difference on a nearly 20 y/o vehicle worth little more than $1.5k if it needs this work and parts...

Each seller has both sides even though I only linked one or the other.

Took a look at your links:
Advance Autoparts - Selling Dorman Stock type exhaust manifold - not high performance headers

Rock Auto - Selling Stock type cast iron exhaust manifold - not high performance headers

Amazon - Selling Dorman Stock type exhaust manifold - not high performance headers

Summit - Selling Dorman Stock type exhaust manifold - not high performance headers

So it seems that we are comparing Apples to Oranges here. Do you have any links for anyone selling currently available high performance headers for the 5.0 Liter 2nd Generation Ford Explorer?

^ Those still have shared pipes and look like they are set up for a stock Y tube into single exhaust, so they aren't so much a high performance part to command that lofty a price.

Here's a guy that was selling superior Torque Monster headers and ended up dropping the price to $300 + S/H and maybe didn't even sell them at that:

If you want to call a used apple a new orange and charge 7X as much for it, it's a free market... I only mention this because these vehicles aren't worth much at this age and the V8 was always able to outperform the suspension.

Did you find any currently forsale and in stock? It appears those at the link were over 2 years ago.

Thanks

I am not looking to buy any, have no interest in you lowering the price. I just think you could be sitting on these a long time if they ever sell.

You might be right. I think it took a couple years to sell the Saleen Racecraft Front Swaybar I had - but it eventually sold for what it was worth to the right person.

Thanks for the input!
