just bought a 2010 Explorer 4x4 and the driver door ajar message won’t go away. We have tried all of the fixes that I can find (wd 40, slamming, you name it we tried it) but that is for another day. We have changed the oil but can’t reset the oil message because it keeps telling us to close the driver door. Is that door message keeping us from being able to enter the menu to reset the oil life?

You need to replace the door switch. It is a small plunger activated switch on vehicle body, near the hinges.

I had the same problem with my '04 $10 & 10 minutes and you are done.
