Hi! I accidentally kicked under the passenger side glove box/ floorboard area of my 2002 explorer and a capsule looking part fell out.

It is hanging and still connected somehow. I cannot seem to find what it is or how to fix it.
It is about the size of large baked potato.
Any help would be much appreciated! : )

At this point I'm guessing it's either part of the vehicle or you keep baked potatoes in your glove box for "emergencies".
A photo would be great for those of us wishing to help.

Looks to be the AC Vacuum Reservoir, FordMotorCraft# xr3z-19a566-aa
that has a broken mounting bracket, see the upper left of your pic.
Can either buy+install a new one,
or fabricate your own mounting bracket out of sheet metal,
or simply use zip ties to re-secure it back in place.
