Well....I've been wanting to change my overhead console to a Homelink one and finally found one on E-Bay. Only cost me $35 total......here's what it looks like.

I'm pretty pleased with it. I'm planning on installing it this weekend.

Well...just got done installing my new (used) Homelink overhead console. Boy was it wasy. The grey console housing was scratched on the one I got so I just swapped the center black part. To my surprise the connector was already in my truck to power it up. So that made it a simple plug-n-play job. I'm pretty happy now having what I assume was a couple hundred dollar option when new for only $35.

This may sound like a newbie question but where is the compass readout at?

Well...not sure if all Explorers have the compass or not but mine is shown in the digital odometer readout...along with the outside temp.

My outside temp is where the HVAC controls are, i think as all limited X's do. I am not too worried about if my compass works or not cause If i needed to know what direction I am going, i got good ole GPS to help haha. I wish the homelink was the 5 digit code instead of the 3-4 digit (whatever it is). It work open the gates to the development i live in lol
