Isnt there supposed to be a little box thing that goes on your rear view mirror? I have one on mine, it makes it hard to put a friggin hang tag on too lol

 

I do have that...it'sfor the compass. The Homelink is all inside the overhead console. Can't wait to get rid of the garage door opener from my visor.

 

Well...just got done installing my new (used) Homelink overhead console. Boy was it wasy. The grey console housing was scratched on the one I got so I just swapped the center black part. To my surprise the connector was already in my truck to power it up. So that made it a simple plug-n-play job. I'm pretty happy now having what I assume was a couple hundred dollar option when new for only $35.

Definately...plus the range seems to be alot better also...the garage door is all the way open even before I pull in the driveway.

Well...not sure if all Explorers have the compass or not but mine is shown in the digital odometer readout...along with the outside temp.

 

My outside temp is where the HVAC controls are, i think as all limited X's do. I am not too worried about if my compass works or not cause If i needed to know what direction I am going, i got good ole GPS to help haha. I wish the homelink was the 5 digit code instead of the 3-4 digit (whatever it is). It work open the gates to the development i live in lol
