I own a 2001 Ford explorer XLT 4.0 sohc. My rev limiter in neutral or park is 3k, which I do not mind I’m not much of a revver. BUT, I do want to take out or modify the running rev limiter at 8k and increase it a couple thousand hopefully. I dont want to hear “you shouldnt go that fast” I know I know Im not here to listen to that. Someone in 2021 please help? Or guide me somewhere, Im in Oregon. Id like to tune the xlt to more of a sport, and put a K&N cold air intake into it to cool off the higher rpms.
