I have a 1998 Ford Explorer-5.0-V8-I just purchased this SUV and I have noticed that it is not the smoothest ride. What are all the different options that I have to improve my ride, and has anyone done any suspension improvements on a 1998 Explorer-5.0-V8-were the results a big improvement? I appreciate any and all responses-Thank you.

About all you can do is make sure all suspension bushings are in good condition and that you have a good set of shocks on there. Also make sure you are running the proper tire pressure. Too high and it can get rough.

I feel that over time the rubber bushings get harder and cause a rougher ride as well.

These trucks arent designed to have a very smooth ride but i know mine feels a lot worse than the day it rolled off the line.

+1 on the shocks. I remember them making a very noticeable difference in ride quality when I put new ones in.
