Hey there, i'm planning on buying a Flowmaster 50 series suv muffler (dual in/out). I have a 97 SOHC. Whats the right size pipe to use to gain the most power? I would need dual runs after the cats to the inlets, then dual runs off the outlets. Also can anybody recommend some nice tips? Thanks for any replies.

I would say no larger than 2.5" for a dual setup for your V6. Any bigger and you'll lose too much low-end torque. I recommend either dual 2.5" or a single 3". As for tips Gibson makes great ones, just check out truckperformance.com, and they have a ton of exhaust tips for sale.

I personally would not go to 2.5 dual, that's overkill to say the least.

If you really want dual, i'd say 2.25.

I'd also think a 2.5 inch single setup would be fine too.

2.5 is the number for 5.0's and 4.6's

i think you should get dual 2 inch. i have 2.5 duals on my v8 and i lost a bit of low end torque. i should have gone with 2.25, but then again, this leaves room to supercharge down the road.
