I purchased a used 2002 Ford Explorer (my 1995 was totaled in an accident) in May. In the last two weeks, whenever I turn the key in the ignition, it takes three (almost always three, sometimes two) tries before the engine cranks. With each turn, it "tries" to start, but just doesn't catch until the third (or sometimes second) try. I've put in "fuel treatment" and it doesn't seem to be helping. My mechanic (and my daughter) says it didn't happen when they tried to start the car. However, when my daughter is in the car with me, she sees what I'm talking about.

Any suggestions about what this could be anyone--I've never experienced this with ANY car. It's really annoying.
