Hay so iam new here and to fords in general.

So i just buoght a 98 xlt explorer and it has a problem starting when its cold... either if i try to start it in the morning or after work it take about 3-4 tries to make it crank ove.. but rarely will it turn on in one shot, except if i had just had it on. It also feels like its struggling. To stay on for about the first 10-20seconds. For that time it jumps between under 500 - 1000 revs then after thpse couple seconds. It stay steady at 1500. Iam just wondering if it could be the cold start sensor, a bad fuel pump. Plugged, fuel filter or the fuels sending unit.. idk were too start. Any help is appropriated thanx

I would start with the simplest thing first, probably a weak battery.
