Hi, I bought a 2022 Ford explore XLT with a class three trailer package and four-wheel-drive yesterday. I have been researching how to connect a brake controller for my travel trailer and have found no information. I went to the dealership and they looked at my Vin number and said that Ford is now without any brake controller attachment. This seems weird as it does have a four pin and a seven pin adapter in the back next to the hitch. It used to be a connection under the panel below the steering wheel. Was curious if it might be a smart brake controller but there is no information on this that I can find. Suggestions? Thanks for your help.

So got my own answer. My car has the 52T package. It does not include the wiring for brake control. So, aftermarket you can get it wired or else you can use a smart brake controller and you plug it into your seven pin next to the hitch and then into your trailer seven pin. It is controlled by your cell phone. I just bought one, pretty neat!
