The driver's side rocker panel on my XP6 98-0011 has torn where the back door abrades it. This has been a problem since I bought it new. The dealer said it was a Saleen problem and they wouldn't touch it. It only occurs in cold weather. My guess is the trim panels expand and contract differently than the steel body.

My question is does anyone have any experience repairing these panels since you obviously can't buy replacements. I thought about cutting the broken section out and trying to remold it in fiberglass (which I have no experience with either.)

Any ideas on repairing these panels?

Any idea what they are made of?

There is a tool like an iron that welds these pieces back together.
